Good News, COVID-19 Would Soon Surrender to Pressure With the Discovery of New Antibodies

The South African Medical Reseach Council (SAMRC) has released a report that the discovery of neutral antibodies from a patient which killed the virus of Severe Accute Respiratory Syndrome (SARS) could end COVID19 threat.

Dr Glenda Gray, the CEO of the SAMRC said the antibodies which previously neutralised the SARS discovered from a SARS patient in Switzerland could also kill Coronavirus.

There has been series of reseach in the development of local diagnostics and reagents for COVID-19 testing through the antibodies could be the virus end.

The Executive director at SAMRC, Professor Richard Gordon, said that they now had a team of scientists from various bodies working on producing these components locally.

“We are looking to try and fund those elements that could be potentially made locally that we don’t need to import so we can be self-reliant on some of these testing kits,” Gordon said.

As the pandemic is staying longer several researchers across the natios of the world doing everything to find solution. As the country moves to even more relaxed level 3 lockdown rules, efficient COVID-19 tracking and testing mechanisms have become more important than ever and several scientists are working round the clock to get local and international cure.

Delays in processing results for coronavirus tests threaten this goal but interventions are underway attempting to unclog bottlenecks in the system.
